Reverse Mortgage
Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) is a choice that some individuals may have when faced with the choice of being able to stay in their homes. To qualify for a reverse mortgage, the borrower must be over the age of 62 and have reasonable equity to qualify. Once the loan is processed, the reverse mortgage pays off the balance owed on the mortgage and the borrower can remain in the home without repaying as long as they live in the home. The borrower must meet with a HUD/HECM qualified counselor to make sure the borrower understands all the options available and to determine the best decision for the borrower. To make an appointment for reverse mortgage counseling or for more information, call 1-800-350-2227.
